Currently installing a 7-piece body of work called "Habitat" to be exhibited at the Pennfield School grounds in Portsmouth, RI
-a series of figurative sculptures of children interacting with animals. With this series, I hope to convey a feeling of playful symbiosis between human and animal. A sort of comradery where we can coexist on this planet we share. Built into each installed sculpture, are places for creatures to hide, live, feed or just enjoy a little respite with a nice view. Visitors are encouraged to leave seeds, nuts, berries and nesting materials as gifts to entice our wild roommates to move in! Please view with respect for these vulnerable creatures and their young. These sculpted children will be on exhibit Thanksgiving through Summer of 2026
There are 7 total pieces. With three different entrance sizes, I hope to attract squirrels, chipmunks and birds. I encourage visitors to leave a bit of seed, nuts or berries to attract these animals. I hope to have permanent residents eventually, but these may not feel like safe places to the wildlife just yet. They may need to be moved to more private properties for these to feel more safe and homey.

Each piece is for sale. The price for each one is the same- $2,200. These pieces are hand sculpted stoneware, fired to vitrification. They are impervious to water and can be left outdoors, year-round. If there are any critters residing in them at the point of sale though, we'll need to wait for them to leave their nest before moving the sculpture. I will uninstall from the Pennfield grounds, clean them, seal them with Thompson's Water Sealer and reinstall at their new home!

Natural adornments
Bring the outdoors inside your home with these beautiful porcelain frogs and stoneware lilly pads. Made to stand the test of time, these glazed works of art can hang on the wall or seemingly float above your garden on metal rods. Glaze will never fade in the sun or chip off like old paint, making these perfect for your porch or garden shed.
SCULPTED PET PORTRAITS
Have your pet memorialized in clay with a custom pet portrait, Lead time is 8-10 weeks depending on the size.
Ellen has an uncanny ability to capture your pet's personality, getting that head tilt or that silly gesture you know and love so much. Even if your pet has crossed the rainbow bridge, Ellen can work from pictures and a phone call, Pictures will be sent with your portrait in progress for your approval before the next step. Cremains can be included in the eye glaze or closed up and fired inside the sculpture.
