Service Description

We will create objects that are functional in nature, such as creating a mug with a comfortable grip or a bowl the size and shape that you prefer. We will meet you where your skill level is and add additional challenges for more advanced students. This is an introductory course in ceramic hand-building including coil building, slab rolling, molding and other techniques, focused on functional objects. The class will utilize hand building techniques to build a variety of forms including coil-built bowls or mugs, and functional slab-built mugs, trays, plates and bowls. Surface decoration will also be discussed. Students will have 4-6 finished pieces at the end of 6 weeks.
